Simple question - which A4s have brake pad wear sensors? I'm ordering PBR ceramic pads from ECS, and this will have been the first time I've changed brake pads on my A4. Mine is a 1997 Quattro 2.8 12v, 5 speed, pre-all-facelifts or whatnot.

My 2001 has pads w/ sensors. When I replaced the pads I used pads w/out sensors (already had them). To avoid the brake bad worn light (on cluster in car) I just spliced the sensor wires together (NOT the ones attached to car, the ones attached to OLD pads (cut them from pads and then spliced the two wires)) This shorts the circuit and makes the car think the sensor is connected. Hopefully this makes some sense.. I could have just explained all of this for no reason if you car doesn't even have sensors.. oh well. Moral, if non-sensor pads are much cheaper, and you are observant enough to know when your pads are low, then don't worry about sensor..
