I was curious how they made their money. Personal accounts don't pay for receiving or sending?

Default I disagree. Just set one up. On their home page, they have an International User login...

You'll need a credit card to send payments though, and it's a bit of a PITA to set up. They charge your credit card 2 cents, and you have to confirm the names of the Vendors they used to charge your card.

Seems very doable though, I just went through it. Try it again.

Default Bastards! I knew there was a catch:

PayPal charges a modest 2.6% + $0.30 International Currency fee on all transactions involving a credit card, which is far less expensive than wiring funds! An International Currency Fee applies on all funds entering or leaving the PayPal system from non-U.S. sources and is assessed at the time of the transaction. Please note that all fees are subject to change.

That's me.

For U.S. people, is there a different way to pay besides a credit card?

Default The limits for personal accounts are very low...

I believe if you receive more than $500 in a short time period, they no longer consider your account a personal account.

Just after I did the RS4 grill group buy they instituted the new policy for non-personal accounts: The sender pays no fee, however the recipient pays something like 2% to cover credit card company costs.

How does ~3% transaction fee compare to a wire/transfer? Do banks charge a flat fee?

Default People tend to keep the money in their account interest free. At least ...

that is the business model sold to the investors.
