Default Quick: help needed with speaker terminals (stock symphony stereo) ...

On the rear deck speakers, how do I tell which terminal is + and which is - ?

The left speaker has a white label on the magnet, with a + and -, can I assume that refers to the terminals?

The right speaker (the one with a little black basket), has no labels at all. How do I tell?

Thanks for a quick response!

that's the problem. I don't see any wires connected to these speaker terminals.

Default Not too quick of a response but this is sure fire...

...Get a 1.5V dry cell battery. Hook a wire to the + and - ends. You can tell where this is going, right? Touch the wires to the spekar terminals. When the driver moves up (into the passenger compartment) the + wire from the battery has located the + terminal. There isnt enough energy in the battery to hurt the speaker or amp so dont worry about it.

My '01 is like this:

Left: + green, - black
Right: + red/green stripe, - brown/black stripe

Default Thanks!

On another development, I was unable to get the power wire through the firewall. On top of that, I lost one of the screws when opening the ECU box.

So, the only thing that I managed to do today was install the Basslink shelf (thanks for all the tips, WClark). And even there, I managed to break a few fasteners while removing the top of rear deck.

I think I'm gonna have to pay someone to run the wires and do all the hookups.
