Sumitomo HTR+ are very quiet. They are considered all-season but perform well as summer tires too.

Default When tires wear out...

All tires get noisy as they wear out. For one thing the wear on a tire over it's lifespan may not be perfectly uniform...which will cause some noise, depending on how odd the tire wear is. Second...as a tire ages and heat cycles, the compound gets harder, and the tire will transmit more road harshness and noise. This is why you'll notice a lot of people install new tires, and immediately "ooooooh" and "aaaaaaaah" over them. New tires are a LOT quieter than used tires.

So first, beware of the person that says "I got XXX last month, and they are SOOO much quieter, than what I had before", and second, set your expectations. Your used tires will get noisier over time.

If you don't care about performance, consider an all season or even a V rated tire (vs. Z rated). That will draw your towards quieter tires at the expense of performance.

Default True, however I've had my HTR+ for almost a year and they remain quiet, unlike the

Yokos AVS Sports which sound like a 4x4 truck even when almost brand new. Thread design and compound quality has a lot to do with it.
