rack on, rack off.... do you guys keep your rack on thru the warm season?

Default rack on, rack off.... do you guys keep your rack on thru the warm season?
i use my rack for snowboarding... i feel lazy and i don't want to take it off and then have to put it back on. but then i'll feel stupid.

Default Rack off! Looks better, less wind noise, better gas mileage
FYI, I have a Yakima ski rack

Default opposite...
snowboard goes through folded down back seat. Bikes go on roof rack... but only when riding. Yakima recommends taking the rack off because the clips will deform the door molding

i take mine off when i'm not using it. it's not that much trouble, and it is the proper way to care for your car.

if you leave it on a lot, use stoneguard pieces to protect your roof paint from the roofrack feet.

Default Same, although if 2-3 skiers/boarders are with me the ski rack goes on too.
The rack also deposits some nasty crud under the rubber boots that rest on the roof.

Put it away for the summer

Default I take mine off in the winter because I only mountain bike so
no need for it to be on. should be going back on soon though.

Default i take mine off whenever there isn't any thing on them...
if you trim the bars to minimum lenth. the base units will fit in trunk.
