Default Radar Jammer advice????

I got a ticket yesterday and the !@#$ radar detector I have didn't go off! (even as I passed the cop!)

Not to bring up the V1 vs Passport 8500 debate but I am going to get one of the two

Has anyone used or seen a jammer? I'm just kind of wondering about them.

Phil and his 1998 A4 2.8 w/cruise contol that I *WILL* use from now on!<ul><li><a href="http://www.technoscout.com/general/product/product.asp?product=185">Radar Jammer</a></li></ul>

A jelly donut placed on the dash would be as effective as any radar jammer

Default Basically the llegal ones dont work.

They have to be passive, but their job is not to be. I think its a big scam.

i had a cop that nailed me and reduced my ticket but after he won in the court he went outside and we talked. he told me that he usually have his radar off and if he observe a car driving fast he turns it on and he will get u.so from his explanation the radarjam do work but the cops can outsmart u.

Default Yeah, but for how long?

I don't know about you, but I couldn't just drive along with a doughnut on my dash without eating it..

Default No offense, but cops use their eyes too

Clocking is just as effective.

The only defense-use YOUR eyes.

Most cops don't really hide, if you are using your eyes you should spot then long before the pick you out of traffic.

Default A hypothetical situation...

Lets say you are driving in Iowa with your radar jammer turned on (and they are legal here in Iowa.) So a cop pulls you over. He says he clocked at 75mph in a 65mph zone. Well (this is what I've heard) in Iowa you have a right to see the radar gun with the 75 speed still on it. If the cop can't show you, than he can't give you a ticket. Maybe someone from Iowa can confirm this, but I've always heard you can ask to see the radar gun because police have to keep the speed displayed on it. This also works well (I think) when one cop radars you and another pulls you over. You'd probably **** the cop off having to call his buddy over to bring his radar gun, but you are probably getting a ticket anyways.

Default Experience

My other car has both in-dash radar detector and a laser jammer installed in front and back license plate frames. In my town the cops use radars so it doesnt work. But from wat I've seen if the cop is using a radar it works well, and if the cop is using a radar get a V1 and you'll pick that up and will be as close to safe as possible

Default Oh I also hear you can get...

License plate frames with a clear plastic sheet between the frame and the plate. When you drive buy one of those stationary speed traps that take your cars picture, the flash from the camera causes the clear plastic to either blur or block out your license plate. I think they are illegal about everywhere, but I don't think anyone would be able to tell. Again, no experience with these either...
