Radio goes into SAFE mode when turning on the headlights
My radio goes sometimes into SAFE mode when turning the headlights (aftermarket HID). Also the display in my dash goes blank sometimes. Any suggestions to fix this ? I searched the archives and somebody (Joe Pilsner) had the same problem but never posted if he fixed it or not. Thanks for all your help

I think someone fixed that prob by running a separate ground
I never had that problem personally but in one of the write ups, the guy ran a separate ground from the ballast to the chasis.

I don't have that set up so someone else will have to pipe in but the factory switch barely handles
the current of the stock headlights so if you are pulling even more amps through them expect switch failure soon. 12V relays would be the key.
