Rattle in my suspension is FINALLY gone. Now I have a huge dilemma...

Several months ago I had my local indie shop swap my aftermarket suspension for a set of OEM sport springs and new Bilstein shocks. The ride was more comfortable than the aftermarket stuff, but the suspension made a knocking sound which drove me crazy. They insisted that everything was in good shape -- tie rods, control arms, etc. They did replace the swaybar links & bushings which helped, but not entirely.
I had a new APR exhaust installed at a different indie shop. They also could not find any problems in the suspension.
THen I had an oil change at the dealership. Again, suspension checked out fine despite the rattling.
So in my fruststion I bought a new car -- a 2006 A4 2.0T. Nice car, much smoother than the B5, but not quite as engaging to drive. (I'm still not totally sold on the DBW.)
Finally I took the car back to the shop who installed the suspension. THey took it apart at no add'l cost, and found a bad shock mount.
Just what I had suspected all along.
Now the knockng sound is gone!!! YAY!
So my dilemma is-- do I sell the 98 which is now running perfectly, and which I love driving? Or do I sell the 06 which is newer, under warranty, but not as much fun to drive, and I have a 4 year loan on it?
Thought?
Thanks,
P.

I think the B5 is the smarter move, sell the 06' pay off the loan and have fun in your B5.
and on top of all that you know how much you love the color

several B5s around here have gone upwards of 200k and I really believe that once you have shaken all the bugs out (and properly maintained), they really are rock solid cars.

I have an ongoing bet with myself (and to a lesser extent with a friend of mine) to see how many miles I can get out of the stock clutch.
I had to replace my '84 Saab clutch at 150k miles. I am hoping that I can get that many miles out of the Audi's clutch. Maybe even more. Right now the car has 122k miles, and the clutch is not showing any signs of wear. (knock on wood).

Car's are still 100% solid drivers...... the B5 has it's quirks but they are a solid car.
