Default I think its got something to do w/the expanding & contracting of the plastic(s) in the car....

due to rational temperature changes. Yesterday morning, 5-10min after fire up, I back out of my driveway and I hear a squeak or a light "tapping" sound in the rear passenger area of my A4 near the upper center vanity light section. I continuously heard this sound untill the cabin was warmed properly. The rattling on my upper LEFT dash area ceases also once the cabin has warmed up also. (74deg F.) I dunno maybe I'm going off on a tangent but so far it seems to work for me. Man it's COLD!!

I too have noticed a rattle in the left portion of my dash, seems to be the bottom left of the instrument cluster. If I touch it, it stops. Only does it when cold. 3 degrees here yesterday.
