Hi,
Looks like I'm not the only one having this problem. I read through some of the previous posts but there's no conclusive consensus on the problem. I'm bringing my car in for scheduled maintanence soon, and I want them to look at this problem and would like more info. before I go in.
From my previous dealings with this dealership, I know they'll claim it is normal (as per the other postings here). It doesn't happen to me all the time. Doesn't seem to be consistent either. Weather could be hot or cold, and it happens. Lately, I am guessing 2/3 times out of 5. It comes on for about 2-3sec. and goes off. A definite rattling sound (that sounds pretty scary), very metallic from the engine bay.
The other problem I'm having is if I drive slowly (say around 30-35mph) on even pavement, I can hear a creaking sound coming from underneath the car (maybe trans??). It is especially clear (sound I mean) if I drive say in 3 or 4 gear going 30-35mph. I know most people drive in 1st. gear at that speed :P but that's how I can re-produce the sound. Any ideas?
Thanks.
