Rattling : Possibly Drive Train

Rattling : Possibly Drive Train
Just recently I have been hearing this annoying rattling noise coming from underneathe the center console. The rattling gets louder when I accelerate and someone told me it could be that the drive train is off balance. Does anyone know what it would be and about how much it is to fix???

Re: Rattling : Possibly Drive Train
I've had a similar proble, except i hear the rattling when i take my foot off the gas while remaining in gear. It's particularly noticable at take off (while changing between 1st and 2nd) or high speed, At first i thought it was just resonance, but now i've been wondering if it could be the gearbox, the offbalanced drivetrain also makes sense.
I'm not sure how much it would cost, I reckon you'll pay more for labour than spare parts if it's just a balance problem, but I'm phoning my mechanic today a 'stich in time' and all of that

look under the car from the back just infront of the exhaust

see if our exhaust hanger is broken loose and is rattling. Mine had the same symptoms which went away after the hanger broke completely free. I'm going to have it re-welded on wed.
