rear brake caliper boot ripped-need to rebuild?

Ok, rear brake squeeking, bought parts, replaced rear rotors and pads.
now one of the piston boot was over travelled so it was ripped.
I used some silicon lube and reset tool to push it back is that good enough? the boot is no longer on it, will it harm the piston? in the long run?
