I recently changed out my rear pads in my 99.5 a4. I made sure to use the anti squeal compound and lube up the calipers and brake parts. I still get a lot of squeal in my rear brakes. any suggestions. Also, a bad problem seems to be happening. My rear rotors are starting to develop a groove, after i installed the new pads. Are the new pads sitting in a weird position? anything i can do, please help.

but not grooves, it looks like the pad bit hard down on the rotor and left residue. Squeeling is fine here, what pads you go with?

but maybe get it looked at, I have aftermarket pads, you have stock, and were experiencing similiar things (except I don't have the noise). They should be fine.

Mine went away after about a month or two of use. The new pad will wear into the groove in the rotor created by the old pads. I would think it's nothing to really worry about as long as the rotors aren't worn out and you don't get weird vibrations when braking.
