modification? I don't want a sub anymore. I am thinking of upgrading the speakers then eventually adding an amp. The weakest link to me seems to be my rear deck speakers. They seem to be fine for some music. But they can't handle the bottom end of heavy rock music. So I figure I would start there and work my way forward.

The infinity's caught my eye since they say woofer. I know that is an ignorant thing to choose a speaker on...I guess that's why I'm posting. I figure I can get a set of rear deck speakers and thrown them in myself then go from there....like you said.

"woofer" does not mean "sub-woofer" or "lots-o-bass" or anything
all of the MB quarts are quite nice (better than the Kappas), the more you pay the better they are. If you REALLY wasnt the triple-booyah ones, get the Q's...but they're crazy expensive.
Call me tonight if you want, we can talk about this in depth
