Rear wheel bearing...
It's time for a new rear wheel bearing and I read the tech on it. I was wondering if you had a press would you do it yourself? I have done work on the suspension like shocks, control arms and the likes. I would like to do this myself for $ reason and I don't mine buying tools to do the job (buy tools not labor) like qfrog said.
Thanks

If I had an on the car tool, I would do it myself. You can not do it cheaply without...
if you take the uprights off the car, you MUST get an alignment, I don't care how carefully you mark things.
A good OTC tool is not cheap.

I know I need a alignment..
which is why I want to the bearing and the front tie rod end which also needs replacing at the same time. I'm planning on removing the the hub and using a press to remove and install the new bearing, I just have never press in a bearing before. It looks like just removing the hub and pressing in the new bearing and making sure it goes in right.

Yeah, you have to press the hub out too.. it's not as easy as it seems...
and it's pretty easy to bugger up the new bearing, if you get it in even slightly crooked, you can totaly mess them up..

Re: Rear wheel bearing...
I agree with Kris, and I have both(hub tool(Sir Tools B-90 kit) & 20 ton shop press). The shop press is basically backup , which I've needed more then a few times. If the bearing is let go too much , then they really get seized in there.
If everything goes well, then its not a bad job with the hub tool and it goes fairly quickly also. If your going to re-align the car , then do them all, because once one goes , the others are not very far along.
