Default Rear wheel bearing part #?

My A4 1.8TQ 5 speed with a whopping 32k miles has a toasted rear wheel bearing. I was wondering if anybody has the part number for these bearings so I can cross reference them to another brand? The actual dealer part number may not be of any use. This would be the actual brand of the bearing and the number stamped on the side of the bearing itself. Also, if there is any seals required, a number off the seal would help also. I can usually cross reference these numbers so instead of going to the dealer and paying big $$, you can go to any bearing warehouse and get a different brand for a lot less money. I'll post the cross numbers when I get them for anybody who is interested. If the original bearing only lasted 32k miles, I hate to put the same brand in a 2nd time and run into the same problem.

Thanks.

Default oh, and the kit includes the bearing and the big bolt that goes into the hub.

mine failed, but both around 50-60K. I would be surprised if there are lots of aftermarket bearings, since the rear audi quattro one is kinda an odd duck...

I would appreciate it if you could dig it up. I searched the archives numerous times and only came up with one number which is *** 567447b I'm not sure what it is for, or if it is for the front or rear. The post didn't clarify and the previous posts didn't say either.

Default part number...

the one you have doesn't sound like an audi/vw part number.

the one for my 2001 quattro A4 is as follows:
8D0 598 625 A

I had HEARD somewhere (not necessarily super reputable) that the later bearings were different from the earlier ones. Who knows if that is true. Well, the bearings are likely the same, but the big bolt was different.

I would say just email clair's with a part request and for the part number. That way you can get another quote and the correct number.

Default Re: part number...

That wouldn't be the Audi part number. That would be the actual bearing number, which is what I need. Audi just buys the bearings from another company and reboxes them while adding their own part number.

What is the web site/email for Clairs?

Thanks for the help.

Default yeah...

link for clair is within... the thing is the bearing is really kinda odd.... it has an internal lip, so the IDs are not the same throughout the whole bearing. I realize there is a supplier, but it is seriously kinda unique. I hadn't seen a different ID bearing of this size before...

http://www.clairparts.com/</a
