Anyone performed this at home. I can get the bearing for free and would love to know how difficult it is, being that the car is a quattro. Thanks guys!

the wheel bearing is pressed into the wheel bearing housing and then the hub is pressed into the bearing once it is within the wheel bearing housing.

I've done numerous ones and if you don't have the proper tools available, its somewhat difficult. You can use a hub type press(Sir Tools B-90 kit, Hub Tamer, etc) where you don't need to remove the hub or remove the hub and use a 20 ton press. You'll need a decent quality allen/hex socket for the collar bolt as well as a torque wrench. The job can be performed at home though. You might consider checking the regional forum here to see if someone local has a hub press.
