Rebuilt CCU? No, I think not.....(more)
I had Climate Control Unit failure at 5000 mile. The whole unit is replaced with a new one and costed about us$ 800 (but luckily it free of charge cuz my car is under warantee). I have seen the removed CCU, look like it's a complete sealed box. I asked my mechanic and he said it's very complex electronic circuit and not repairable. In fact, CCU can be reprogramed via VAG 1551 to some extent, but beyond that, the whole unit must be replaced.
What's wrong with yours? Why do u need a rebuilt one?

Nick-
Thanks for the info. it was very informative. My friend and I both have the same problem- the pixels have broken up on the inside temperature display to the point where it is not legible. Any suggestions? The unit works fine otherwise.
Thanks again,
Brian
