Recently, pressing <resume> disengages my cruise control - anyone else with this?

I have got to were I hate using the cruise control. It has a mind(with little intelligence) of its own. It will work but when trying to re-engage or readjusting the speed, it becomes a PIA.

Everything has always worked great in the past. Maintaining speed was acceptabley accurate and smooth and I could always increment the speed by 1 MPH with a blip of the "resume" button. The problem of the cruise control cutting out altogether upon pressing the resume is recent, and now happens about 80% of the time. I was wondering if there was a known issue with the switch unit.

and the dealer made a warranty replacement of the cruise control module on the stalk. It has worked fine ever since.
