Default remote start question... who has it and what make

i am going to put in remote start into my A4 probably next week sometime, was thinking of going with the viper system, didn't know the pro's or cons and if any of you guys have it already, let me know, also, how do i turn off the clutch sensor for the remote start to initiate. i'll be installing it myself just because i'm cheap like that, well, let me know if there is anythign i should look out for or if there are any particular brands of remote start i should get... i have a 2000 a4 manual

Default i just wonder how that works..i mean you have to push clutch in to start car normally...

plus another question i have..now that is running, when you get the car do you put the key in the ignition still? I really don't understand how this works - cause i'm stupid, i guess :-\

Default You need to have the person installing the remote bypass the neutral safety swith.... Your car

must be in neutral at all times. There is no way (that I have heard) that you can have a safety set so the car won't start when accidentally left in gear. I watched a friend hit the button and slam her Civic into an old Cadillac. Good thing no one was walking in between the cars! Either way, for it to function properly, you must leave you car in Neutral and apply the E-brake. Make sure that thing works!!!

Default to remove the clutch switch you remove the panel under the dash

and look for a small relay switch on the clutch pedal arm.. remove the switch and jump the wires. easy..

Default With my compustar...I have something called reservation mode...

The engine does not shut down until I pull the key out of the ignition, get out and close the door or press the brake a second time, with the key removed from the ignition.

It's a very good system because I always have to keep the car in Neutral then. If I interrup that process in any way, the next time I try to auto start the car, it will fail.
