Default removing AEB cylinder head, how the hell?!

I'm trying to pull the cylinder head from a 97 1.8T. I've removed all 10 cylinder head bolts along with the belts and all hoses but the thing just won't budge. I've been banging a huge screwdriver into the gasket for 10 minutes but it's simply not splitting the head from the block. Am I missing something?

Default Don't hammer between the block and the head

If you need to hammer at all, tap along the sides of the head.

Are you sure its only Ten Bolts - Are there any brackets the span the head and the block?

Default Use a rubber dead blow mallet and give the head a shot from the side

that should pop it loose. If it doesn't, you haven't removed all the bolts.
