Default Removing baked brake dust particles from rims - GooGone? ....

The insides of my rims are covered with numerous black spots which I think is baked-on brake dust - rims haven't been cleaned for a few months (shame on me). Washing them with car shampoo and a terry towel doesn't make the stuff go away. I checked the archives and some people suggested using Goo Gone. Is this stuff safe for the rims? What would you guys/gals use?

Default Yeah, a citrus degreaser will work fine. When I switch my rims for the summer/winter.......

I generally take them into the shower int he house and use hot water on em, and scrub em with a brush, and use GooGone or sumn' similar. Then waz em tho, cause the citrus stuff strips wax.

Default I got some of that multi-purpose cleaner stuff from the dollar store...

They have different brands from time to time, but it all seems to work about the same. Gets my wheels spotless. It's perfectly safe; I even use it to remove stains from clothes.

Whatever you use for the car. The brake dust will be at least 50% better if you do.
