Default Removing, Cleaning and Re-installing K&N Air Filter - What a PITA!

Well;

Its just taken me an hour and a half to re-install the air filter after cleaning it, much swearing, 3 different sets of pliers, a magnet to retrieve the dropped clip (why do they always fall where there is no way you could ever reach them), a set of chopsticks (in an attempt to get the dropped clip), more swearing, cut hands and a lot of patience.

Also had to unscrew and remove the heat shield to get the air filter to sit perfectly before re-covering.

But it is done - K&N filter cleaned and re-installed. :-)

Took the opportunity to vaccume the engine bay in those normally hard to reach areas.

Removing and installing the air filter is certainly not an easy task on an A4.

Default U should have put the stock one in when u were at it...

I ran the K&N as well, but after all the MAF's problems that I read about I just went back to stock...no performance gains anyway...

and yes it is a bitch of a job...I needed a friend to help me as an extra pair of hands...

A properly maintained and installed K&N will mean no MAF problems.

Default You don't need to take off that last clamp on the airbox

without dicking around with that one, it takes <2 minutes. If you do mess with that hard to get clip it can take forever

A stock maf can go out on it's own, really does not have anything to do with a filter.
