Removing the ECU- a question (no, not the dreaded 5th screw)

I'm about to hit the parking lot and get my ECU packaged up to send.
After the ECU is out, have most of you left your baterry disconnected for the few day wait, or reconnected? Is there an advantage to either, besides the remote door locking issues?

I never did this after the first time. And I used to reset it every 2-3 weeks to get the lost power back. Driving around at anything but WOT makes the computer slow the car down a bit over time.

There were no negative issues with that. The positive side of it is that I didn't have to go get a wrench to disconnect it. But that's pretty much it with pros/cons. (As far as I know.)

Everything worked fine when I hooked it back up. Clock and date were correct as well as radio presets were still there. I never did get that last rear screw back in.
