Removing JUST resonator on 30v 2.8 (will this produce a desireable sound?)
Or will it sound like rocks in a tin can?
I was just throwing the idea around of removing my resonator (only) and replacing it with a piece of piping... with everything else stock including my stock muffler.
Will this sound like crap? Or will it produce a slightly more audible throatier sound (which I am looking for)?
If so is there a certian way to do it? I believe there are 2 resonators on the one main pipe under there if im not mistaken.
(being that I have a friend with a lift and a welder it would be free, but I do not want to waste my time if its going to sound like ****)

Ill try it, if it does not sound the way I like I will just weld it back on...
I have heard from other that it will produce a better quality sound as long as you have stock cats and muffler.
The exhaust gains are extremely minimal on 30v anyways so I really cannot justify spending $800.00 ona cat back exhaust to get a nice sound if I can get a simmilar sound for free.

I put a high flow resonator and muffler on my 12v...
and it was obscenely loud... like plugged my ears when engine was under load...
I'm not too sure how the 12v and 30v relate when it comes to resonance, etc... the the 12v is pretty bad, which makes me think the 30v would sound similar.
Moral of story: SKIP! Do it right, or don't do it at all... learn from my mistakes

This is an old post but I just replaced my resonator with a glasspack on my 30v, and after it warms up it quiets down and sounds pretty good, louder but not annoying, I don't sense any power loss or gain.
