I work on electronics every day, this doesn't sound like a difficult problem for someone with the correct skill set to figure out.

A thicker wire wouldn't help.Increased wire gauge will decrease resistance which will allow more current not less.

I think you need an auto-electrician. Stuff like this is very difficult to diagnose via a website.

Somehow that amp is drawing some power, probably not the full amount as it's only 30W and I assume the actual system is 100W + when you are listening to it.

But 30W will easily drop a battery . One headlight is 55W.
