Hi
Last month-end, i had a problem with my 2001 Audi A4 2.8Lv6 Quattro; i.e. it wasnt starting. Normally, i go to the Audi specialist, but it so happened that they were on vacation and I had to go to a local mechanic. He diagnosed the problem and faulty fuel pump and replaced the pump and filter. Now the vehicle starts without any problem. But issue is ; at times, it is not starting at the first crank esp; when the engine is cold.
From what I understand, it may not be holding the pressure in the fuel lines or is there any other reason?? what can cause all these. I did not have this starting issue earlier..
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in Advance

The new pump might have a bad check valve allowing the fuel to flow back into the tank thru the pump.
To see if this is the issue you can try turning on the key for a few seconds before starting it up or you can put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel feed line to see if the pressure has dropped to zero over night.
What pump did the shop put in?

Also, I have observed, that the mileage (miles per gallon) has dropped.
