Replacement key and fob

Hi,
One of my keys to my 1999 A4 was lost. I have the other key. The key is the switchblade type, with a fob with 2 buttons - lock and unlock. There is no trunk button on the fob.
I have a few questions.
1. I looked on eBay for a blank fob and key. There are several fobs with 3 buttons (lock, unlock, and unlock trunk); however, only a couple with 2 buttons. The ones with 2 buttons do not have a blank key. If I bought a fob with a key that is already cut, can I replace the existing key with a blank one? (Can you even purchase a blank key that can be inserted into a fob?) Also, will I be able to reprogram the fob for my car?
Who can cut the key? For approximately how much?
2. Alternatively, can I buy a spare key that does not have the fob; i.e., just a standard Audi blank key that I can then have cut? (I understand that with this scenario I'll have to insert the key in the lock to lock/unlock the car and set the alarm). I see these also on eBay for about $10. Does anyone know how much it costs to have a key cut? Does the key have to be cut at the dealer, or do some private businesses do this also?
Thanks for any help...

i've using them for years on my a4. just the trunk button doesn't actually work on my a4 since there is no power trunk.
you can switch the keys from the older switchblade into the new one.
and if you want to get a regular key, that's possible. get a blank and bring to a vw dealer. much cheaper than the audi stealership.
if you live in nyc, there's a private shop of the lobby of the brooklyn dmv office that sells fobs, keys, key blanks, and will cut the keys.
