Replacing '98 Blose head unit - many questions....
Has anyone replaced a Blose head unit with one that requires splicing wires? I'm tired of the cd changer that keeps jamming. Crutchfield has only one unit with built-in CD and tape players - Sanyo FXCD-500. Any BTDT? How hard is it to splice wires - can you get at them? Does the mounting bracket cover the gap between unit and console? Any other advice? Thanks,

Search the archives
Search the archives -- someone found a part from Scosche (I think) that let them avoid cutting into the factory wiring. The standard Audi/VW wiring harness will NOT work with the Bose system without this special 'other' adapter.
I upgraded my non-bose head unit. It was a PITA and eventually required splicing into the factory wiring. Means I can't go back to stock... not that I really want to.
Good luck.
