Replacing front outer cv boot?...

Spending some time on the ground next to the car yesterday I found out that my front passenger side boot has a small rip/crack somewhere and is seeping grease. So, rather than washing and changing oil this friday, I'll work on that before the joint wears down and has to be replaced.
Anyone done this before? I've looked at Bentley RM briefly and have done it on my Eclipse, but what needs to be done on A4s? Will I be able to swing the caliper/bracket assembly to the side and expose the half axle end? What about assembly? Any special tools needed? (32mm? socket)
Thanks

then you need to get the CV joint off teh axle.. I don't know if there is a clip holding it on, never had to look.. make sure that you clean the CV joint thoroughly, just in case any dirt or other gunk got in there...

I'll clean it as best as I can, but remembering the job on my Eclipse, it was nearly impossible. I couldn't get the inside of the joint clean. But then again I didn't pull the axle out of the joint. I was replacing the clutch so I just put the boot from the transmission end of the axle.

have to pop a control arm or two out of the upright to get enough movement.
Good luck!!

reused those with a dab of Loctite blue but I would replace the axle bolt .. too nasty if it fails.
