Replacing front speakers

I recently blew my the front speakers on my 99 A4. I don't have the bose system. I have been looking around and most people seem to replace the speakers with 5.25" speakers, yet I believe the stock speakers are 4". So I assume they purchase some sort of 4" to 5.25" adaptor like this one http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Speaker_adaptors/audi.htm. I have a couple of questions.
First, does anyone know of US dealer for such an adaptor?
Second, do I even need such and adaptor, could I not just use a 4" speaker?
Third, I was planing on buying a coaxial speaker and separating the speaker, as others have done, but how do you separate the tweeter?
Thanks for the help.

I had the Bose and they blew. Those speakers (stock 4" paper cones) are just crap. I ended up replacing mine with 2 way Kenwood speakers and yes I know the Bose uses diff. Ohms, but the speakers sounded GREAT. MUCH better than the Blose. NO sound level differences, no amp heating up, no problems after 8 years.
Just go get a decent pair. Mine were only like $40 and wow I'm so impressed. With adjustable tweets, I could even adjust the spatiality of sound in the car since the car already has tweets in the door. Its a very simple solder or splice, and you can even use the stock enclosure and modify it to fit with simple tools. Hope that helps and good luck. Make sure and let us know how it goes!
