Seriously, I have been wondering for a while if we can't just relocate the damn thing. I'm still on my original fuel filter - at 125k miles. I'm scared...

however I wouldn't want to mess with relocating the filter simply due to the hardware involved. There are banjo bolts at both ends and there isn't a lot of room to work with them if you were to cut and extend with hose. It would be easier to work with the hoses if you dropped the tank completely out of the car, but honestly a filter change is so easy with a lift...I wouldn't consider relocating it a worthwhile advantage (and potentially dangerous).
