Default Replacing tie rod ends....

Well, while my car was up on a lift I noticed my passengers side tie rod end boot was torn, where it attaches to the control arm. Has anyone replaced theirs? How hard of a job is this? Should I just get stock replacments or is there some form of upgrade for them that I can do? I saw someone recommend using the S4 ones but is it really worth it? Thanks for the help.

Default How much is the difference in price for the S4 parts?

Personally, I'll do that upgrade when the time comes.

Default From ECS....

A4..

OE Tie Rod End Kit-2 Ends
Includes left & right tie rod ends learn more $74.95

S4..

OEM Tie Rod-Priced Each
S4 specific tie rod end learn more $99.00

So there is quite a difference in price. Just wondering if it's worth it.

IIRC it's all metal instead of the A4 ones with rubber parts. It's worth it IMO.

Quite a difference in price??? Jeez, it's only $25 difference. If you're going to agonize over $25, perhaps an Audi isn't the best choice of vehicle for you (unless you're going to spend that extra $25 on some zoloft...).

Cheers,

I guess I missed that as well, though your explanation could have been clearer. In either case, $50-100 each for a tie rod end isn't an outrageous price. Quality ends are always more expensive than the cheap stamped and/or plastic parts.

Cheers,
