Dealer recently diagnosed my turbo waste gate is sticking, thus causing lack of boost. They suggested to replace the entire turbo assembly. I found someone who claims to be able to get the waste gate actuator assembly and replace just that part, for FAR less money.
Anyone ever hear about this? Is this not a good idea?

the waste gate never sticksusually the rod breacks
if your turbo is in good condition is a good idea to replace the rod with the actuator only
be carefull when adjusting it is not as simple as it seems
where are you located?
