Default Repost: Replacing the ABS sensor ring around the cv-joint at a rear wheel (quattro)

ABS light is on. Found a code related to the rear left sensor. The problem was not solved by replacing a sensor. I pulled out the ABS sensor at the rear right wheel (damaged it!) and compared the ABS ring at the two rear wheels by inspecting them from the sensor hole. The left ring has shorter and rusted teeth (I bought the car with ABS light on).

So I am thinking to replace the ABS ring at the rear left wheel. The car is a quattro, and the ring is on the cv-joint. I have two questions:

(1) Bentley says the ABS ring should be replaced together with the cv-joint. But is it possible to replace the ABS ring alone?

(2) If it is possible, where can I get the ring? I know that FWD audis have the ABS rings on the brake rotors at the rear wheels. And the dealers change the brake rotors with ABS rings. If the ABS rings on the brake rotors for FWD audis are the same as the ones on the cv-joint for quattros, I may try to find a used ring from the brake rotor of a FWD audi. Can any one confirm this?

Thanks.

Default It may not be part of the CV joint, it may be pressed on, but I doubt you'll be able to get just ...

the ring.. start looking for a rebuilt axle, or CV joint.

Default ABS ring is availlable in Germany. Quite strange not in America

Default Please do. On my Passat the ring was loose, triggering a code. Ended up replacing the axle

with a rebuilt one as it was cheaper. But my mechanic said the ring is welded (?)
