Default Reprogramming a 1996 A4 keyfarb style alarm remote?

Recently my batteries went dead in both of my keyless entry remotes. I replaced the batteries, but they still do not work. I am assuming they need reprograming. I rather not go to the dealer for this. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO DO THE REPROGRAMMING ON THESE REMOTES? ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE HELPFUL. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Default I think I saw that in the FAQs.

It's something like this. Turn the ignition key to 'on' then get out of the car and close the door. With a second key turn the drivers door lock to the lock position and hold. Press the buttons on your remote and it should reprogram the remotes.

Check the FAQ, as I’m not % 100 sure on the exact procedure.

You need two keys put one in the ignition and turn ignition on but don't start car. Put the other key in the driver side door (make sure door is closed) turn the key and hold it in the lock position and hold the unlock button on the fob until car unlocks.
