Default reprogramming switchblade problems...help

I tried reprogramming my remote last night. I followed the tech article but it didn't work. I got a remote off ebay, since when i got my car i only got one remote and the valet key. I put my working remote in the ignition and and turned it one click forward. I used the valet key to lock the door from the outside. When i pressed the unlock on the new remote the lights flashed. I locked and unlocked the car with the valet key, but after i pull the key from the door the remote, would not work. It would flash the lights but would not unlock the door. I hit the unlock a couple times and it ended up disabling the power lock entirely. I tried my working remote and it didn't work either, even the button on the door would not work anymore. I thought i really screwed thigs up, but i waited a few minutes and everything went back to normal but the new remote was still not working. Any ideas???

Default this is what worked in my vw

i ran the key through the washer so i had to take it apart and dry everything. after i had it back together i tried unlocking the car using the remote and it wouldnt work, but then i just put it in the ignition and switched it on and it reprogrammed the key. maybe it was a fluke, but it worked.

Two different things. All you did was synch your remote back up with the car. I had to do the same thing. It didn't really get programmed.
