to reset ecu, unplug battery? or should i just take out ecu and plug it back in?

Default pull the ECU out.
Otherwise you're gonna need to re-input your radio code, time, date all that crap.

Default that take all of two minutes
i disconnect my battery when i'm taking the ecu out. dont know what made me start doing it, but i always do. but i know where my radio code is. it was funny, when i put my chipped ecu in, the radio, windows and sunroof didnt work. my buddy was like "chip it and it turns into a race car" got a little chuckle out of me
