I'm sure this has been covered often, but I can't find any info in the archives...
I just had my oil changed (not at the dealership) and wonder how to make the blinking "OIL" message dissapear from the trip odometer.
The dealer says I must take it to them (and give them $28). I was also told that I could disconnect the positive terminal of the battery for 10 minutes and fix it that way (I know I will have to key in the radio code afterwards).
Will that work?
Thanks,
Crawford

The newer models (the ones that can be reset without a VAG) don't just say "OIL".
So his options are to reset it with a VAG.
