Resonator removal...
Has anyone ever just kept the stock exhaust and just replaced the resonator with a straight pipe? A few years ago I used to own a VR6 Passat and I had read several people just removed the first of the two mufflers or resonators (seemed to me it was referred to as the suitcase muffler or something like that. I never did understand the difference really between the muffler and the resonator) and put in a straight pipe. It supposedly sounded great and was a little more free flowing. I just can't justify spending 5-600$ to make it sound better. I already love the way my car sounds (I built a custom intake for my 2.8 and I love the sound the motor makes) Just curious if anyone has tried this.
