Default Revs hanging between shifts.

Okay so my new to me '99 NDBW 1.8t won't drop its revs between shifts. As I accelerate I'll shift at say 5k, but the rpm's drop very slowly, I'd have to wait 3 seconds to have the rpm's match my engine speed. Very annoying, shifting so slow takes all the sportiness out of the car. If I shift without waiting for the revs to drop, it's the tranny that slows the engine down. Anyone have any ideas about this? No luck in the archives. I've cleaned and lubed the throttle cable and throttle body. It's not the throttle sticking open. I also have a leak in the turbo hose coming off the turbo to the x-over pipe. Related? ANY help appreciated.

Default Yea I have the same prob.

Im thinking maybe the flywheel?? I dunno if im in the right direction or not. I have a 98 NDBW 1.8t. I did notice if you let off the throttle a little bit before shifting it drops a little faster.

Normal. The dual mass flywheel is why revs hang out so long.

Default You might check the cable...

the engine does tend to hang on to revs a bit, however mine had gotten worse over several years. Close examination of the throttle cable showed that the plastic sleave had galled, leaving a bunch of little plastic ***** rolling along the cable, making it sticky. The sleave is clear on the ends, so you can see if this is an issue.

So a LWFW would solve this?

Default Any recomendations?

I saw that AWE tuning has the clutch and flywheel kit . Is it worth getting or is there better one out there for around that price?
