Default Are RMSs known to go bad on the 1.8Ts?

I'm starting to think the slipping clutch is a result of this....

Default nevermind...assuming you mean rear main seal?

they can go bad on anything, i've heard a few people have them go bad on an A4 and cause your issues..is there oil dripping down?

Default no...but it could cause the clutch to slip if it's going into the bell housing. Did your clutch

slowing get worse, or just one day start slipping?

Default it actually slipped a couple times in 5th last month...and then yesterday coming back from Manhattan

it started slipping in every gear coming through the Lincoln Tunnel. I was like wtf? So it kind of just came out of no where. Also, I'm not sure if where a RMS would show signs of leakage, but I have been noticing oil on the rear of my belly pan which I've always been trying to figure out.

Default probably. i wouldnt go back to the place that changed your clutch..

here's a picture if it helps you visualize it better:

Default I actually spoke with them already, and told me to bring it in nxt wk....

I'm in really good w/ the owners of my indy shop, and I have a lot of trust in them. They've never done me wrong, so I'm gonna see what they say. If it is in fact the RMS that is causing my clutch to slip, I'll probably tackle it myself with some friends (hopefully). Thanks for the pic.

Default removing the tranny on a garage floor was well...

the biggest pain in my *** ever.

oh, and if you do replace it, get an OEM one. I put a fel-pro one on and it didn't fit right.
