Thanks to JGM, I got my RS4 grille yesterday. I installed it this morning on my '01 1.8T and it looks great! Before putting it on, I attached the quattro badge to the grille. I know there have been some discussions here about how to do this, but here's how I did it:
1. Get the quattro badge off the existing grille by removing the two metal clips that hold it in place.
2. Modify the back of the badge so it fits into the honeycomb of the RS4 grille by cutting a large slot in the middle. Here's a photo of the modified badge:

Don't make the slot too wide -- you want it to fit snugly into the honeycomb. After I got the badge installed, I decided that the two tabs that stick out were too long (I could see them through the grille) so I them cut off as indicated above. It's easier if you cut them off before you install the badge so do that now too.
3. Put the badge into the grille and make sure it fits well. As long as you didn't cut the center slot too wide, it should stay in place while you work to secure it. Here's a picture of the backside of the grille with the badge installed:

In this picture, the long tabs are still there but as I said above, I ended up cutting them off as shown in the first picture. By the way, the Nikon CoolPix 990 is great for taking these weird angle shots!
4. When the badge is put in place, there will be a void between the tab and the honeycomb which can't be seen from the outside (it's blocked by the badge itself). I filled this void with hot-melt glue but you could probably also use superglue or something else. It's held pretty securely and I don't think it's going anywhere.
That's it. Here are some pictures of it installed:
