A local dealer mentioned that Audi isn't going to bring the new 3.0 quattro until well into 2002; the first cars will be 1.8T-q-manual and -Tip and 3.0-multitronic. Stated reason - "we haven't done a good enough job of selling FrontTrak."
Audi America is hyping the new rear suspension and saying "you wouldn't know the difference between FrontTrak and quattro?" Whichever asswipe said that should drive to Vermont, Colorado or anywhere in crappy weather...
Sad thing is it doesn't surprise me.

...they're always full of $hit. Whether you are buying a car from them, getting your car serviced, or just getting info. such as this. I've yet to find one dealer that I could actually consider trusting, and I don't expect I ever will. Afterall, a dealership is there to profit, and profit they will.
So, I wouldn't take the dealer's statements to seriously. It wouldn't surprise me if they introduce FrontTrak only for the first part of 2002 or whatever, but I'd feel pretty damn confident that Audi will not give up Quattro.... they have a huge history with it, it's a great selling point, and their customers love it. Quattro is not costing them tons of money in repair(warranty) work, so they don't have a direct reason not to use it.
My 2 cents, if you beg to differ through your 2 cents in the bucket .... eventually, I'm going to take the bucket away and buy myself a chip

Audi is very very happy to be selling more Quattros than front track. "We haven't done a good enough job of selling FrontTrak" is total BS, because Audi makes MORE MONEY selling Quattros!!!!! Quattro is a deep rooted philosophy of this company, and it will not be going away.

With Quattro being Audi's #1 unique high-point, my guess is that they can't get the 2002 3.0 Q cause too many people have ordered them already! Its a new engine....I'm sure they made more 1.8's, and I'm also sure that they will get 3.0 Q's later on, but they are too hard to get right away, so he is trying to turn people on to FWD.
Pretty stupid tactic.
