Default ?s regarding manifold boost, boost gauges and vacuum

Ever since I reinstalled my new boost gauge(by reininstalled I put it on an A pillar, the gauge was before in my vent) my car has been acting kinda funky. The my boost went down from 15 to 12(and it isn't the weather) and my idle vacuum went down from 18mg/hg to 14. Now I know it isn't the boost guage thats innacurate because its a very nice gauge and it was fine before. Either the hose leading to the gauge is leaking(which is unlikely) or there is something up with my car. Now my general impression of the performance is hard to determine. Whenever something like this pops up I always feel the car get slower even though it might not have but I do think its a bit slower.

So my real q's are. If the vacuum hose(btw this isn't the FPR hose but the BPV hose) from the manifold was leaking what kind of effects would it have on the car, would it get slower or just not allow the boost gauge to read as much boost. Secondly, assuming the line isn't leaking, what could cause the vacuum to drop so much. BTW my idle has gotten kinda unstable ever since this.
