Default Yeah, but if you took away the wife, 2 kids, job, and Chris, and let him work in his garage

(with a lift), he'd be done in a week!

Default assuming he had all of the parts, even those he didn't know he needed. it's not a 1 week job

not even a 2 week job. especially when you add in all of the mods, and the mods to the mods.

Default for what it's worth, didn't Rob do pretty much a full-on conversion?

I.e. tearing everything out of the donor car and putting it into his A4? I think one of the Induktion guys just did it basically from the firewall forward and it took a lot less time.

yes, everything. and that's why it took a lot longer as well. it's the right way to do it, imo.

Default I think there's kind of both sides to that story...

... I mean, I know at the end the project had dragged on for so long and he was frustrated with the time it'd taken. I'm not a project manager, but there's something to be said for setting attainable goals that can be achieved versus lofty goals that may not be totally achieved or may drag on in achieving.

Or something like that.

Default well, the biggest challenge was

time. the shop that he was using, often didn't have an open lift when we showed up. so, we had to deal with whatever the car needed to get it off of a lift to use the lift. then, push Rob's car in, the donor (if needed) and then plan for clean up time and putting that car back on teh lift. honestly, it didn't leave a lot of time to work on his car once a week, and often resulted to very late week nights of 1-2am.

and, as far as goals, yeah... he wasn't happy with just breaking 400whp

I guess the bug bites some people harder than others.
