Default S4 ride height vs. A4 sport package question...

they always say 20mm lower, but is that lower than the a4 sport package, or lower than the stock a4, meaning the same height as an a4 with the sport package?

thanks in advance.

Default The new EC makes it sound like its 20mm lower than A4 Sport.

Default From what I gathered at the Audi.de site...

it's just 20mm lower... not 20mm lower on top of the Sport pkg.
I wonder what brand of shocks they will be using? I hope it's not going to be those awful (compare to Bilstein or Koni) Boge (OEM) again.
If Audi does it right the first time (S4 or otherwise), then we don't have to do it again.

Default I used my calibrated tire/fender lip gap measuring tool....

In other words, my hand. I measured 4.5 fingers in front, and 3.5 fingers in the rear on the new
S4. Haven't done that on an A4 sport, I'll have to find one soon.....

It didn't appear to be any lower then the A4 sport, in fact, it almost looked a hair higher (I hope
not).

Default I think EC said it was stiffer than the A4 Sport.

But only 20 mm lower overall, not compared to the A4 Sport.

Nice mention of the forged aluminum suspension components.

Default Mmmm . . . digressive . . . aaahhhh

Does digressive mean that the wheels splay out when you hit a bump? Kinda like the BTCC cars?

Default Corey, is ride height impacted by the '17 wheel/tire package?

Default Re: Mmmm . . . digressive . . . aaahhhh

We already have digressive shocks. Most modern shocks are digressive: it just means it reacts non-linearly to bump speed (doesn't rise as fast). Firm when cornering, relatively softer in high frequency bumps.

We also have a degree of blowoff. Hit a bump hard and it releases pressure, instead of resisting the bump. This is what you see the race cars doing. It is also why the v6 bottoms out so easily.
