Default scam or for real? ebay sending notices?

so the email goes something yada yada like this, funny part is i've never given Ebay (or paypal for that matter) a ATM pin number.

"Dear еBay Customer

Thank you for submitting the requested information about your account. We have compared the information that you have supplied and the ATM Pin number is not the same as the one in our records.

To ensure that your account is not compromised please login to Account by clicking this link, verify your identity, your account information and supply a valid ATM Pin number in order to get your acount reactivated by our system."

Default it is COMPLETELY FAKE

no one will EVER ask for your atm PIN NUMBER???? wtf

no one would ever need that to get money from you, and you should have never had to give it to ebay in the first place

Default 2nd. bigtime wtf. Never give PIN #

Pretty much ANY email that u get that says "we need update our database" or "for security reasons" or anthing are a scam. Never email anybody your CC#, PIN#, ATM#, SS#, or anything important. Companies like Ebay would send you to a SECURE webpage to enter any info, b/c email is not safe. Thats one reason that order confirmation emails list your credit card number with a bunch of XXXXX's except for last 4 digits.
