I have never been in any kind of organized race or school. I go to school in Wilkes Barre PA and found the most badass road I've ever been on. I've driven it every night that I've been here. Tagged as "Giant's Despair," it is an almost totally empty, smoothly paved road (aka, public race track) that goes up one side of a mountain and down the other with a ****load of curves in between. Well, guess what...last night when I went for a run, there was a huge banner saying "SCCA Annual Giant's Despair Hill Climb, June 13/14." I want to race in it. Anyone have any experience w/ a hill climb? what class would I be in? do I have time to aquire a SCCA license? The head of the regional SCCA is right around the corner from me. I already have a valid physical and a helmet. On a side note, it's supposed to rain both days of the race
Thanks,
Jon Ghenn
P.S. The pic is @ the base of the mtn.
