and then drive around for some minutes.

Default Seafoam can be used in 3 spots ...

In the gas tank, in the oil, and in the vac lines. Put 1/3 a can in the gas 1/3 in the oil, and 1/3 in the vacs. But if you put it in the oil, just let it idle for 20 solid minutes then drain it. I don't know if i trust driving around in that stuff. It will thinin your oil. If you put it in the vacs, slowly let it suck in while someone lightly revs the car at 2k or so. Keep going slowly, allowing the engine to recover. Once the 1/3 a can is gone, shut the engine off. Let it sit for 15-20 min. Then turn her on and bring her out on the highway till the smoke is gone.

If in the gas, just poor it in till the tank is empty, then fill up.

You could stfa or read the seafoam can aswell.

Marvel Mystery Oil works too. Same idea, same stuff for the most part and easier to find.

Default Never run Seafoam for more than ~10 minutes before you change the oil, and never under heavy load.

I add one can between Wal-Mart (where I buy my oil, 3 miles away) and my house. I drive very gently all the way home, letting the car idle ~5 minutes before I shut it off and drain the oil.

Default I have about a 15-20 mile trip from my house to my parents where I change the

oil....all highway driving, I should be ok with only a 1/3 of a can in the oil to go this far?

Default Put it in at idle then drain it. You don't want it in long enough to evaporate and redeposit sludge

Light aeromatic solvents will evaporate inside an engine quickly, like an hour or less. You don't want to disslove sludge in one harmless place just to redeposit it evenly all over the inside of the engine. Use it for 10 minutes at idle (becuse it will drasticly thin your oil below what is safe to drive on) then drain it out hot and fast. I use plain old Kero for this, btw. If you want a non-solvent that you can leave in to slowly and safely disslove sludge, Auto-Rx.com is a hit-hit.

Default MMO is stoddard solvent, works good. SF is light aeromatic solvent, faster-acting and volatile.

Marvel Mystery Oil Lubricant-06/20/2002

Ingredients from MSDS/Label
Chemical CAS No / Unique ID Percent
o-Dichlorobenzene 000095-50-1 0-1
Stoddard solvent 008052-41-3 20-30
Hydrotreated heavy naphthenic distillate solvent extract 064742-52-5 70-80

...pretty much toxic.
